Stuff: Unemployed
I suddenly find myself out of a job, now that my employer has trimmed its workforce by 25%. While that theoretically leaves more time to post, more likely it will just make me less inclined to -- not that I'm posting all that faithfully now. So don't expect much here for the next while...

Ack! I take it this was unexpected...
Very. Not only were the 20 layoffs themselves unexpected, but a number of people have said they're really surprised that I was one of them -- after all, I was the most senior developer there. There are some systems there where I was the only remaining person who knew how they worked.
I don't anticipate this being good for the company. Gotta roll over my stock options quickly...
Sorry to hear that. Good luck in the job hunt!
Sorry to hear the news as well.
Still reading here, even if I don't say much. So, keep posting when the mood strikes! :)
Your photos are fabulous. I'm really enjoying them. Hope the job search is going well.
james, the Wheeler Needle Works is mentioned in the 1987 novel "in the skin of a lion" by Michael Ondaatje. i'm currently rereading it for the third time, and googled the name to see if it was in fact, a real factory. good photos, all of them, but that one is really evocative, based on story line of the book. thanks again.
